I have noticed when 1 stick climbing with my rappel rope (canyon elite) I find it's much easier to manage my rope if I run it through my lineman's loop before attaching my tether to the tree. It just seems to stay out of the way a lot better as I climb. Also I find it's easier to hook the thumb
